A business magnate and tycoon, political consultant and public thinker, philanthropist, author, spokesperson, and institution builder, he belonged to that rare class of men whose lives cannot be confined to a single designation. He was a man of enterprise and intellect, of influence and instinct, of ambition and values.
Born in Kerala and shaped by both aspiration and struggle, Shri PKD Nambiar carried the temperament of a creator from a young age. He did not believe in merely participating in the world as it was, he believed in building what it could become. With courage, clarity, and an exceptional understanding of people and possibility, he laid the foundations of a journey that would grow into a far-reaching legacy.
Through ventures such as Bsquare, his early foray into information technology, Flags Communications, his marcom and strategic communications force, and BookMySeats, his events and ticketing venture, he established the early pillars of what would become The Nambiar Group. Yet the true measure of his achievement was never only in the businesses he founded, but in the philosophy with which he built them. For Shri PKD Nambiar, institutions were never meant to be hollow structures of commerce. They were to be built on credibility, relationships, discipline, innovation, resilience, and purpose.
Beyond business, Shri PKD Nambiar was widely regarded as one of India’s most awarded and acclaimed political strategists, consultants, and thinkers. He possessed a rare grasp of public sentiment, leadership, communication, and the deeper movements of society and governance. As a strategist and advisor, he brought insight and foresight. As a spokesperson and commentator, he brought authority and clarity. A shooting star is a wonderful thing. It passes quickly, but while it is here, it lights up the whole sky. It is the most beautiful and glorious thing one could ever hope to see. So beautiful, in fact, that even the other stars seem to stop and watch. You almost never see one. They are rare. We saw one. We truly did. The world knew him as PKD Nambiar.
Shooting stars do not stay for long, yet while they are here, they become everyone’s hope. They carry dreams. They listen to wishes. They light dark skies and give people something to believe in. That is what Shri PKD Nambiar was to so many, not merely a man of success, but a man of presence, warmth, reassurance, and extraordinary force.
